This photo was taken in my client's dining room. We had been shooting some food all day for their new restaurant. We were getting ready to sit down to eat all this amazing Brazillian and Agrentian food when I decided to try my hand with a fast shutter shot.Time
This was taken in the afternoon right at the dining room table.Lighting
This shot was taken with a couple of really cheap tabletop lights taped to stands. A super simple set up.Equipment
Canon 80D, I think maybe the 18-135mm lens that came with the camera. A couple of really cheap tabletop lights for product photography. Handheld.Inspiration
It's food. What's more motivating than that grilled asparagus?Editing
I used lightroom to bump up the colors a bit and really make the veggies pop.In my camera bag
I shoot a lot of stuff off the hip, this was the first real food photography I've done for money and just in general. Usually, I have my Canon 80D, a CPL, the 18-135 lens. Although I recently added a 50mm 1.4 to my kit that I am in love with. And a couple of rechargeable panel lights. I travel light.Feedback
Make sure you have plenty of light so you can use a fast shutter speed and open up the aperture to get that depth of field for the background. I think I hit this one at 1/500 or more.
