Location

Hello, this was taken by the Flight 93 Memorial. There is a small pond nearby, and I saw the milky Way and thought it would be a great composition.

Time

This was taken between 2 and 3 AM.

Lighting

For this, you have to have a few elements for this wo work. Have a low ISO, No more than 100. Shutter should be low, like F22. Aperture should be around 2 to 4 seconds, depending. I recommend playing around with it. Also, keep in mind, unless you have a lens that is under 24mm, you have to calculate the difference of aperture to what kind of lens you are using.

Equipment

I took this photo on my Sony A7R3. Lens I used was a 24/240 lens, with a 3.5 to 6.3. No flash, I used a Vanguard tripod. With these sort of captures, you should always use a tripod.

Inspiration

I have always loved the stars and milky way. I never had a chance to take a milky way shot, so my friend and I went out one early morning and took some composites.

Editing

No, I try and keep post processing to a minimal. If I have to, I would use either Adobe Photoshop, or Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I always carry my nifty fifty, my go to lens is the 24/240 lens. I have two bodies always on hand. My Sony A600 and the Sony A7R3. I keep a flash, some memory cards, and a cleaning kit. Depending on where and what I am going to capture, I take some ND filters as well.

Feedback

Some advice Id like to share would be this: Photography is a special way to do many things. Express your ideas, your vision, your way of seeing the world. I like to think photography is like art, you take a camera and you go capture something you think is beautiful or beneficial. Make photography fun. Stick to one subject at a time. Pick one subject like landscape, cityscape, etc, and try and focus on the different elements that are involved. Don't however be sporadic. Try and keep to something you would enjoy the most. No matter what it is, don';t be afraid to explore. There is no perfect photographer. Everyone messes up, but I'd like to think, that our mess ups are our greatest captures. For it teaches us what we are , and where we are going with our craft. Don't feel like you need to capture something someone already has captured. Be unique and find different angles of the same subject. Be yourself and creative!
