the sands of Gran Canaria

Sand, desert,dunes are very fascinating subjects, mostly becouse of patterns, highlights and shadows. I visited Maspalomas dunes twice and they were morning visits as I was trying to avoid having footprints everywhere. During my first visit I didn't get much as I literally couldn't find an inch of unspoiled sand. I thought I won't be able to photograph there again but on one of the evenings I checked weather forecast , which showed 30 km-h wind in the night. I took a chance and next morning I was on Dunes. Footprints were almost gone. I walked for about 2h looking for some nice compositions. I have to say it's not easy to switch from big vistas into narrow, detailed frames. The only thing I missed this morning was a good light...still wasn't bad morning at all.
