An Eastern Yellow-bellied Racer coils up and lies silently while the photographer goes to work. I must say that the location where I found this snake was not conducive for getting good photos because of the taller grass. Because of this, I was able to safely transport the snake to a more upland location with shorter vegetation and was able to get some nicer photos with the low angle ambient light. After I finished, I transported the snake back to the location where I found it. Photo was taken near the north unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota.
