Location
This photo was taken near my home town in upstate NY by a large swamp of trees and brushy vegetation.Time
I would go for a drive after work in the early evening hours to locations that I have known to be good for sighting birds and wildlife, where I would park by the swamp and brushy vegetation using my car as a blind. I took this photo of the Least Flycatcher on May, 16 at 5:10pm.Lighting
This photo was taken in natural light as the sun was setting leaving a catch light in the birds eye.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 7D mark ii using a Canon 300mm f2.8L lens with a 2x extender in natural light mounted on a car door bean bag.Inspiration
I have always had an interest to photograph birds and wildlife in their natural environment.Editing
This photo was only cropped to provide a better visual of the bird image and markings. In my camera bag
My first lens I grab is my Canon 300mm f2.8L combined with a 2x ii extender making it a 600mm that is fast and sharp and for reaching out long distances. I have this lens connected to my Canon 7D mark ii that is a fantastic workhorse of a camera. I also have my Canon 70-200mm f2.8L mark ii that works great along side my other lens for action that may take place in a closer situation that is attached to my Canon 70D. My third lens is my Canon 100mm 2.8L macro for many types of close up subjects. My last lens is my Canon 24-105 f4L for great scenic views.Feedback
I find that in photographing birds and wildlife you need lots of patience, a positive outlook because your not always going to capture an image every time you ahead out exploring for your subjects. You want to know your equipment, your camera as I have learned to shoot in AV mode as wildlife wil move instantly in an out different lighting conditions.
