This is the product of a few hours looking at light pollution maps and Google Maps' satellite data to find the right spot, The fireflies aren't at their peak yet, here in southern Minnesota, but planning and patience paid off. This fifteen-second exposure was just long enough to capture the fireflies and Milky Way, without noticeable motion blur.

I'm still using an original Canon 7D, which suffers in low-light. This definitely pushed it to its technological limits. The image was processed in Lightroom for light and color, and lightly edited in Photoshop to bring back some of the detail.
