Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the Jetty on the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia in June 2019

Time

This was the first day we arrived in Perth, we took a walk down to the water front around maybe 3pm. I wanted to start our journey in Perth with a memorable shot of the Jetty with the sign in full view. This was our first day in Australia and a day of my travels that I will continue to remember fondly.

Lighting

I merely used the light that was available across the sky front which gave a great reflection in the water as the clouds formed partly across the sky.

Equipment

Canon 600D

Inspiration

I wanted to capture the sign so I could start my journey with a sign relating to Perth. The colours and the contrast from the weather made this a more inspiring photo.

Editing

I did not.

In my camera bag

I don't carry any additional kit other then Memory Cards.

Feedback

I would always say don't over think it. I never over think a shot, I have a good eye for detail and I go with my gut instinct. I like to taking pictures of the natural shot, whether that is landscapes, people, animals etc. I see everything as a story, and so I like to capture what I can in the moment. Each picture I take can tell a thousand stories which are depicted by the individual that is viewing the image.
