Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken outside a museum in Turkey when i was on vacation. I'm a self-taught photographer and been doing this for a few years now. Always looking for opportunities to take some pictures.

Time

This was taken early morning after sunrise. During this period of my vacation, it was winter in Turkey therefore it was super cold and rainy weather. During my touring around the country, we went to the Hagia Sophia Museum which is well known in Istanbul. As always keeping my eyes wide open, I had to get this shot

Lighting

The early morning was an overcast morning so there wasn't any harsh light so I could take advantage of the good natural light. The natural light assisted alot in getting this shot in this manner which rather came out really good

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon 600D using the 18-55mm lens

Inspiration

I am always looking for opportunities to take pictures and capture a special shot. I have seen pictures of an object been reflected in water and wanted to capture one of my own. Also this was in a narrow ally which had a good background and the picture was staring at me in the face.

Editing

I take my pictures using manual mode so in that way I try to get the best possible shot and with most detail. I have edited the picture slightly with the sharpness and few detail enhancements but not too intense. I like keeping the picture as close to original as possible to keep that look and feel as I was looking through my eyes.

In my camera bag

I've got my Canon 600D camera. I always keep my 3 lens with me to have the versatility of taking different shots at different times on the go. I've got the Zoom lens, 75-300mm for those beautiful far shots, the Wide Angle lens, 10-18mm lens for those cinematic, landscape pictures and the Macro Lens, 18-55m lens just to get those beautiful portraits going. I also keep a second battery to keep me going through a full day of capturing. It really comes in handy and would definitely recommend getting a second battery

Feedback

Simply just keep looking for opportunities to use your camera and learn to have the eye for certain shots or angles. Look at other photographer's work and learn from them and just play around and have fun doing it.
