Autumn is approaching and one morning promised a little chilly and sunny weather, has set the clock and comes out to this magical morning. The sun is halfway up and colors the fog so everything becomes a lovely yellow hue throughout the landscape.

We had a working meeting at Hennickehammars Herrgård in Filipstad Sweden and since we then had to start early in the day, I took the opportunity to go out a little earlier because the weather would be favorable with cold mornings and sun. It was promising for a good picture.Time
This is one of the few pictures I took in the morning, because I am tired in the morning, so my pictures are usually taken in the afternoon or evening. This morning it was perfect conditions with thick fog and the sun on the way up, which gave me nice reflections in the water. The picture was taken on September 5, 2014 at 07:13Lighting
I am almost always looking for the natural light, because nature is most beautiful in its own lighting. Usually it is different times in the evening that I take my pictures, but when I took this picture it was early morning and it is one of the few morning pictures I taken.Equipment
This image was taken with the Canon Eos 7D, with the lens 24-105 mm, focal length 28 mm, exposure 1/400 sec. I did not use any other equipment.Inspiration
I wanted a beautiful and atmospheric picture from a scenic area. At the same time I had no picture from the morning light. This was a great opportunity when we had a working meeting at a scenic area. I was also lucky with the weather with thick fog and the sun on the way up which gave a nice reflection in the lake. I took pictures from slightly different angles but this picture was clearly the best.Editing
I take my pictures in raw and use manual settings so there is not much finishing. What I have done is to increase the contrast to distinguish the stones from the fog and increase the saturation slightly. In my camera bag
If I go out for half a day, I have a Canon 5D, Canon lens 24-105 mm, extra memory card and extra battery. If I'm out longer, I can also bring a Canon 7D, a Canon 70-200 mm lens and a Canon macro lens of 100mm. Put a tripod in the car if needed, depending on where I intend to photograph.Feedback
What I think is most important for a nature photographer is to be patient, let it take the time it takes to get a good picture and take many pictures. To find out what weather conditions are expected at the place you intend to take your photos. Thinking about the light, morning light, evening light and the blue hour can give beautiful and atmospheric pictures, but one should also not forget the really gray days that can give very nice colors. Go through your photo equipment and bring only what you need. Then it can be important to say "It is not the camera or other technology that makes the picture, only the person behind the camera does" ????
