A little behind this shot. This is another composite shot of 3 images - all long exposure - to try and capture the etherealness of that dominates this incredible citadel. Most of the image is a 3 minute exposure for the foreground. There is then a sky image painted in and one more just for the golden light that hit huayna picchu (the mountain in the background) at one point that morning. Overall, for me, this captures Machu Picchu's spirit. (Also, for other photographers heading to Machu Picchu, tripods are not allowed, so make sure to take a beanbag with you to be able to capture something like this. This was taken by putting the camera on a beanbag on my rucksack... and a lot of pateince... and hope it didnt get knocked over by the crowds. Somehow I got through it :)
