Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a mansion that was rented for a weekend so that I could develop this photo shoot with two models.

Time

This photo was taken late in the afternoon, near sunset, outside the house. The nature on the outside of the house with the soft and indirect light of the end of the day created the perfect mood for the photo.

Lighting

I was looking for an intimate atmosphere for the photo. The soft and indirect light of the evening enhanced the beauty of the model and her skin. A darker background, full of textures, made the perfect background to highlight the model.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS 6D with a 50mm lens. Only natural light, f/1.8, 1/60s, ISO - 100.

Inspiration

I was looking for a timeless, classic feminine beauty, reminiscent of the great oil paintings made in the past. I had the perfect model, in the perfect place, which created a magical moment.

Editing

I usually use little post-processing on my photos. Small framing corrections, skin smoothing and a treatment of contrasts, shadows and highlights to create a slightly more dramatic mood.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my Canon 6D, accompanied by Canon's L series lenses. A 27 - 70 mm, a 70 - 200 mm and a 50 mm. No tripods or artificial lighting.

Feedback

Try to understand exactly what is the feeling you want to communicate with the photo. Search for the perfect model and location. Do not give up creating the ideal scenario. And work with simplicity, focus on the direction of the model, create the right environment for the photos and shoot more with your heart than your head.
