I shot this photo in the galley of my narrowboat, the rustic wooden surface made for a good background.Time
I believe it was mid afternoon, I’d walked back to my boat and bought the eggs from outside a cottage in the village.Lighting
Soft lighting worked really well here, I have large windows in my narrowboat but the light wasn’t too strong that day, just right.Equipment

The eggs were all different colours and so really pleasing to the eye. A simple white dish and rustic wooden surface made for a good shot I think.Editing

Keep it simple, good shots of food need to be well lit to show off the natural beauty of things like fruit and eggs etc, like in a classical painting. Let the food speak for itself.
