Congratulations on your win in "Women of Film Noir", an excellent portrait that captures the essence of Film Noir very nicely, the femme fatale look, the high contrasts and the feel of the times. A job very well done!

Location
This photo was taken during a "pole dancer" shoot. Lynn (the model in the picture) came together with another friend to get some shots while doing their "routine". I asked Lynn to just lean against the pole and this is the result.Time
We did this photoshoot last year on the 5th of May in a studio that was equiped with a "pole". We spent about 4 hours in the studio.Lighting
2 stripboxes, one on each side of the model.Equipment
This photo was shot with a Nikon D500 equiped with a Nikkor AF-S 17-55 mm f:2.8. 2 stripboxes triggered with Elinchrom trigger.Inspiration
After taking some specific "pole dance" shots, I wanted a different picture, so I asked Lynn to lean against the pole.Editing
I needed to clean up the picture so that nothing distracting remained in the background. Lightroom is a great help, also to convert to Black & White. In my camera bag
My standard camera is a Nikon D500, with a D300s as backup. My lenses are a Nikkor 17-55 mm f:2.8, a Nikkor 85 mm f:1.8, a Tamron 70-200 mm f:2.8 and (for shooting airplanes) a Sigma 150-600 mm f:5-6.3 (contemporary version). For landscapes I recently bought a Tokina 11-16 mm f:2.8.Feedback
As pole dancers usually do their routine in an "open" environment (sometimes even with mirrors around the place), it is not so easy to take shots with a dark background. I was lucky to find a studio that had a pole installed and were we could use a black background..
