Location
This was the alternate location. At the primary location there was still winter and the lake was frozen. It was very early and no wind so conditions were quite perfect.Time
My wife and I got up at 4 AM to photograph sunrise at a lake, so it was still very early at this location on our way back. Conditions were perfect with the river looking like a mirror and a low sun from the left. One of my best landscape images.Lighting
It was very early so the light was very nice. With the sun from the left I even managed to get a slight lens flare.Equipment
This image was taken handheld with my Nikon D810 and Nikon 24-70 f2.8 lens at 38 mm.Inspiration
Seeing the river this calm is a rare sight and the light at this early time was magnificent.Editing
This image is pretty much straight from the camera, only minor adjustments in Adobe Lightroom.In my camera bag
Sometimes I go very light with just a Messenger bag with my Nikon Z7ii and my Nikkor Z 24-70 f/2.8 S and Nikkor 105 f/2.8 or Nikkor 70-200 f/4. Otherwise, I go with “everything”, that means all the above and my Nikkor 85 f/1.8 S, Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 and wireless remote release, Godox flash trigger, Godox 200 Pro and Nikon SB-900 flash.Feedback
The right conditions don't come regularly so be ready when everything clicks.
