The reverse of this Dime error coin show the 8% incomplete planchet or clipped area and the strong Blakesley Effect on the opposite side. The Blakesley Effect is caused by the missing area of metal allowing the coin to "bounce" inside the collar when it was struck the dies. The Blakesley Effect is the weak rim and the small area of reeding that can be seen from the face of the coin.
