Behind The Lens

Location

In late late autumn the sun moves toward this tree and gives us beautiful opportunities to take pictures from the windows on the back of our home. When I am able to get the tops of the trees on the other side of the field in the picture I count that as SUCCESS!

Time

Each evening we are treated to a sunset, some far more inspiring than others but rarely disappointing.

Lighting

I am really struggling with lighting of some of the sunset and moon pictures, then there are times when struggles turn into successes.

Equipment

This was taken with my Coolpix 320 and the window sill was my tripod!

Inspiration

We are far enough north that the sunset moves from wnw on the first day of summer to the wsw on the first day of winter. There are a few weeks that the neighbors home blocks the final minutes of that display but even then I can find a way to capture it or include their home into the photo. I am anxious each evening to see what I am going to try to capture, pastel, vibrant or even a cloudy grey sunset.

Editing

This is a product of simply pointing and shooting. I am really in need of more practice and tutoring in post-processing.

In my camera bag

My bag is filled with hope and desire for the most part. Also, tucked in with my camera is the most important thing to me and that is an additional battery with a full charge.

Feedback

I think that I may have lowered the light when I took this, but to be honest, I am seriously, point shoot and hope for the best. And VERY pleased to get these results.
