A beautiful example of what black and white can do for an image, it has a silky fibrous quality about it! The harmony is almost tangible, what a great shot...

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was take in Owen Sound, Ontario in Canada. It's on private property and requires permission from the land owner to take the hike into the waterfall.

Time

It was taken in the early afternoon when the sun was behind the falls.

Lighting

Just to make sure the sunlight was behind the falls to accentuate the foliage. If the sunlight was on the falls it would have overexposed the falls.

Equipment

Shot with a Nikon 7000 on a tripod using an ND10 filter, focal length 16mm with a Tokina lens. Exposure 5 seconds @ F2.8. ISO 100

Inspiration

I had a project to photograph waterfalls in the area. This is one of many falls taken that week.

Editing

Some minor cropping

In my camera bag

Currently use a Nikon D810 with Nikon FX lenses

Feedback

Get a good ND10 filter on a wide angle lens
