A portrait of my parents shortly before my Mother's illness. She had lost her Mom to cancer and her father was not around, my Mom was shuffled around relatives homes and then she lived in boarding houses until she met my Dad at a diner. He would make frequent stops there working for the pipeline through New England. When she wasn't there a couple f times my dad asked the diner owner where she was and no one had seen her. So my Dad went to all the boarding houses until he found her, weak from pneumonia, my Dad packed up her things, wrapped her in blankets and drove her to his home with his parents and they nursed her to health and she moved to an apartment and she waitressed at a local restaurant. my father approached her one day and said: I have nothing to offer you, to which she replied: neither do I but I'm willing to try. They Married and have seven children, 10 grandchildren. We cared for them at home, we said goodbye to them at home.
