Location
I have taken this picture in Madagascar, in Andasibe district. This is a very nice place where you can see a lot of wild lemurs. These are a female Maki lemur and her baby on her back.Time
It was around 7 am in a clearing in the middle of the rainforestLighting
That was a perfect natural morning light.Equipment
I used my Nikon D810 with a Nikkor 70-200 f 2.8,freehand.Inspiration
I lived in Madagascar, in the main city Antananarivo. Lemurs are endemic to this country and I have seen some in zoos in europe. I absolutely wanted to see them in the wild. I was very lucky to come across a family where a female had a baby.Editing
I treated my image in black and white and put their eyes back in color. I used Photoshop CS6 to do that.In my camera bag
I always take my Nikon D810, my Nikkor 24-70 f 2.8, my Nikkor 70-200 f 2.8, an aluminum tripod, a flash cobra and a microfiber cloth.Feedback
Move in silence, stay calm, do not wear perfumes. When you have spotted the animals, stay crouched for as long as you need to, and let them approach, primates are usually curious and can come and watch you closely if they do not detect any danger. Don't use any flash.
