Location
This photo was taken at Anjana Beach of Goa, India, while I was on vacation. I am an amateur photograph, and each subject has a new set of learnings for me every time.Time
It was early noon, and the sun was not too bright, thus making it possible to still capture the subject in natural light. The direction also ensured that there was no reflection of sun rays on the water surface, providing a clear and contrast background. The minimal clothing also aided to highlight the perfectness of the hips and the back.Lighting
I wanted to ensure that the gaze got fixed on to the body of the model, which was perfectly toned, and subtle light falling on her enhanced the natural tones. The blue water background also ensured to nicely contrast the body contours. I also managed to get other beach goers out of the frame, providing her the exclusivity she deserved. Shutter speed had to be fast to avoid blur and shake effect.Equipment
This was shot on Lumix FZ-150, without any other support. It was a hand held shot.Inspiration
The perfect natural figure of the lady inspired me to take this photo, which was also defining the mood of the beach. The water in the background looked so inviting, and I wanted it to create the urge to jump right in and have fun in the waves. The dress sense of the model was also inspiring to shed inhibition, and enjoy the environment on the beach as it actually should be enjoyed.Editing
I did not have to do much of post processing, except for a bit of colour saturation adjustment with simple MS Office Picture Manager. In my camera bag
I just have my bridge camera in my bag, and brush and cleaning cloth to take care of it. I also carry a spare battery, so as to be able to last one full day.Feedback
You would need the right time of the day, and a lot of patience. Especially at such busy places like the beach, and if you are looking for subjects within the crowd. If you are shooting with a dedicated model, then less frequented beaches will give you a scope for many retakes, which are not available otherwise. However, the thrill is more in catching fleeting moments, and in a crowd, where you need to adjust very fast.
