Taken several years ago, this creature was just crawling along on a handrail at a local state park.

Just your average small town street corner in suburbia in the winter.

This large piece was laying on a beach on Lake Erie and I just like the symetry of it. Later it looked like it had a face.

I shot this looking up into a street light while it was snowing.

This church is long gone now. Torn down because of its age and disrepair. I did some photoshop on it to get this look.

Shot prior to ceremonies at our local cemetary for Memorial Day.

This snow family was built by welding g students for a famous charity light display in our area.

Just a seagull hanging out on the shores of Lake Erie.

Our local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 211 marks Memorial Day every year with a service in our local cemetery.

Behind The Lens

Location

I remember having a really bad week at work and I just wanted to get away for a day or so. Presque Isle is about a three hour drive from my house so one day in April a few years ago, I drove up in 80 degree weather to arrive in 30 some degree weather.

Time

I don’t even remember the time just that it was cold and the sand was whipping my legs because I had shorts on. I was in a walking boot as well.

Equipment

Just my old Canon Rebel Tsi 1, with the what I call my in between lens.

Inspiration

I was taking shots of the waves crashing against the light house which sits at the mouth of the bay. I saw these guys get out of their car carrying surf boards and they then walked up to the lighthouse so I just stayed put and put the camera on repeat. I shot until they went on not the water.

My Rebel, my Canon point and shoot, my Nikon point and shoot because it t gets awesome close ups, a shutter release remote, lens ball, batteries, card readers, two lenses besides what’s on the camera, a notebook and pen, a tripod, Kleenex, a starburst filter and a lens hood.
