Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken on the outskirts of the town Loveland, CO. I am very lucky because beautiful sunset & sunrises seem to be a fairly common thing here in Colorado.

Time

As you probably have guessed this was taken at sunset as the sun was sinking away behind the foothills. Which happens to be one of my more favorite times to go out shooting.

Lighting

I really wanted to highlight the sun's position in comparison to the mountains as well as the clouds. Capturing a nice clear photo of the sun directly with out it getting washed out can be a little tricky at first until you find the right settings on your camera.

Equipment

I took this photo with a very common set up for me. Being a NikonD7200 with a Sigma 18-300mm F3.5-6 lens with a polarizing filter. Free handed.

Inspiration

Photographing sunrises & sunsets are one of my most favorite types of photography there is. This day the clouds were just in the perfect spot which resulted in this not very common scene.

Editing

Nope. This is exactly how it look with the naked eye. This was just an example of having my cameras settings perfect & being in the right spot at the right time on the right day while having my camera handy.

In my camera bag

Often times I will just bring my camera with me whenever I head out of the house & on those times I usually just have my Nikon D7200 & my 18-300mm F3.5-6 sigma lens attached.

Feedback

Just try to make a habit of always having your camera with a versatile lens attached with you as often as possible & always try to keep an eye out for a nice shot.
