Location
Hooded Oriole was sitting in an apricot tree outside my house. One of my favorite birds.Time
It was just after sunrise when I heard him singing outside, I so grabbed my camera and did my best to hold still while I took a shot.Lighting
The sun was shining from the east, so the bird was more highlighted. The only unfortunate thing was this was shot through a glass window which creates a little blur.Equipment
I used my Canon PowerShot 530, hand held and zoomed in on the bird.Inspiration
I love birds and this one seemed to be glowing in that spot on the tree. They move very fast so I feel blessed to get a good shot.Editing
No post-processingIn my camera bag
Being an amateur photographer, I only use the Canon PowerShot, now a 540 HS and extra batteries. You never know when the battery will be used up so it pays to be prepared.Feedback
Be patient and try not to get so excited you can't hold the camera still. Also know the migratory path of the bird you want to capture. In the SF bay area, Orioles come up from Mexico from March and stay here until August.
