Located in the Highlands of Scotland, the River Etive rises on the peaks which surround the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor. It flows and winds through a number of waterfalls and gorges through Glen Etive reaching the sea loch, Loch Etive.
The glen is famous for its use as a filming location for both James Bond's Skyfall and Braveheart.
Today the glen and the river are controversially subject to a proposed hydro scheme which would surely ruin the natural beauty of its wilderness, tranquility and the large number of red deer which roam freely throughout the glen.
This was my first visit to explore the glen and now ranks as one of my favourite locations within the UK. Lets hope that those whom are responsible for decisions of this nature make the right decisions and protect this landscape for future generations to enjoy.
