Thank you very much for considering my photo for the award. It was part of a photoshoot that I will remember for ever. This was the inaugural shoot at my Home studio. This Photograph was taken by me at my Home Studio in Chennai, India. I am a fashion, Portrait and Sports Photographer having attended online courses from Sue Bryce Institute and NYIP.Time
This photograph was taken on 3rd, March, 2019 at 3.59PM. It was an interesting shoot. It was a hot summer day and we started the photoshoot around 11 AM. After Makeup we started the first shoot and continued after lunch. With the harsh sun turning to a lovely shaded afternoon, the conditions were good for a natural light photoshoot. Ms Raji (Rajee) is infact a well known Makeup artist of international repute, helping us in the shoot. During the coffee break Ms Rajee and I discussed a photoshoot with her. so Raji's photoshoot was an unplanned shoot alongwith the main photoshoot of the professional model.Lighting
We planned for a portrait shoot since she had lovely eyes. After a few test shots we planned for a nice shadow on the right part of her face since she had a birthmark on her forehead. so we tried a few shots with hair falling on her face and I used a Godox V860 VING off camera flash at 1/2 power. this gave me an opportunity to have a harsh shadow on her right part of the face, covering one of her eyes and the other eyes looked awesome. In fact she has brown eyes to add to the beauty. restricted it to a headshot in the final selection.Equipment
This photo was made with my trusted Nikon D500, 18-250mm:3.5-6.3 Tamron Lens and GODOX- V860N Ving Flash. the parameters were A:f/10, SS: 1/100, F:35mm, Manual modeInspiration
It was my inaugural home studio shoot and alongwith the model portfolio shoot we had Ms Raji with lovely eyes. so we discussed and took about 10portrait and headshots. The full on face was not very inspiring so we tried a half twist with hair covering one eye and part of the face. The shadows on the face looked awesome so clicked a couple of shots.Editing
I prefer not to do much of post processing, I am not a photoshop artist. I converted the better looking photo to B&W in google photos which is shared with you.In my camera bag

More than exotic gears try to look at different angles to get a better shot. Visualise shadows and play of light. A headshot might be a better choice than a full length portrait shot. look for features like eyes, nose, lips etc to highlight in ones photographs. Be flexible in your shoot and discuss the plans with your model at all times and take her into confidence. thank you very much for selecting my photo. best wishes. please be Safe..
