Location
Snapped this lovely in my front yard.Time
Taken later in the day, that side of house gets the afternoon sun exposureLighting
The flowers are there and always great to look at but, that day, the afternoon light being filtered through storm clouds spoke to me.Equipment
NIKON D7100 with a standard kit lensInspiration
On this particular day it was the rain drops on the petals that provoked me to get the camera. Even after a significant storm, instead of being sad and soaked, the water was still beading. Throw some cloud diffused light in the mix and *poof* I was lucky enough to have a camera close enough to take advantage of the shotEditing
I do very little processing and am prone to sharpening a lot of my pics. I'm a fan of contrast. Didn't so that this time and the pic is better for it.In my camera bag
I usually have the smaller kit lens on the camera. I have a NIKKOR 50MM prime lens that always ready and 80MM-400MM lens which is a monster but really good for moon shots. I have a MeFoto tripod to help with the moon shots and any time I try my hand portrait photography. The reality is I'm a novice at best but really enjoy trying to find THAT shot.Feedback
Advice? KEEP SHOOTING. Digital photography allows one to snap, and snap and snap with piles shoddy photographs accumulating.
