Location
This Photo was taken from Picaninny Gorge in Bungle Bungle National Park, Western AustraliaTime
It was about 16 hike in one way. We spent the night inside the gorge, this was taken about 11 pm at nightLighting
It was very dark, I knew it'll be mostly silhouette apart from the stars. I decided to light the tent lightly to add something interesting in the photo.Equipment
I use Canon 5D MK iv and 16-35 mm f2.8L ii with Sirui Tripod T-2205x carbon fibre. But what I had in the bag was much more.Inspiration
I wanted to show people where I spent the night, at that time it was my very first 16 km one-way hike, or anything close to it. I was proud to be able to achieve it and I want to share that.Editing
The basic reducing highlights, increasing shadow and also playing around with the black and white to increase contrast. In my camera bag
It really depends where I go. But in most cases, I would have Canon 5D mk iv, Canon 6D, Canon 16-35 mm f2.8L iii, Canon 24-70 mm f2.8 ii, Canon 70-200 mm f2.8L iii and Sirui Tripod T-2205x. If I want to do timelapse, I normally take 14mm Rokinon SP and an extra tripod off amazon.Feedback
for those who want to capture the Milkway, the best setting to start with is iso3200, 25 sec and the biggest aperture your lens can do. f2.8 would be great or even f1.8. But more often than not f4 is more than enough, you'll have slightly more noise in your photo.
