Location
The photo was taken in Ramsau in the Alps of Berchtesgaden, Bavaria in GermanyTime
I went to lake Hintersee on a early morning spring. It was not easy to find a spot to shoot this landscape as the mountain is pretty close to the lake. The morning light was just beautiful. I just love how the rising sun is shining on the peak of mountain Hochkalter.Lighting
The landscape was plunged in a perfect natural light. No need to do anything. Just finding the right angle and exposure.Equipment
I shot this on my Nikon D5300 using the wide angle lens Tokina 11-16mm at 11mm.Inspiration
The picturesque landscape in the Alps of Berchtesgaden is inspiration enough. It has also been inspiration to a artist colony years ago.Editing
I did some post-processing in Lightroom. Most adjusters i use in landscapes are shadows and highlights, tones and saturation. The right expsoure is requirement to have ample scope. It would definitively not be the same without post-processing.In my camera bag
I mostly have my wide angle lenses, the Tokina 11-16mm and the Sigma 18-35mm, for cities and landscapes and a 50mm prime lens for details with me.Feedback
I am always searching for lakes in the mountains to capture great reflections. The early morning hours and the evening hours are perfect for mountain mirrors. I find my spots using maps and browsing the internet.
