This photo was taken on my last trip to Ireland in 2018 while standing in the car park of the Kylemore abbey. Ireland ahs always been one of my favourite places to travel to and this picture really shows why.Time
This is probably one of my favourite landscape images. We were touring Ireland so it really was just me and my camera. We arrived early before 9am to beat the queues. Its was mid March 2018, either 26th/27th.Lighting
Luckily the natural lighting was perfect that morning (before the clouds rolled in). I used the landscape feature on my camera to highlight the natural lighting and really provide those pops of colour from the trees. From there is was just finding the correct angle to take the shot.Equipment
my equipment is really nothing fancy. Just a Samsung SM-G900F....no flash, no tripod or additional equipment. These are usually quite expensive for me so I try to use my camera in the best way i canInspiration
As an amateur photographer I have always had a love of architecture and while standing in the car park of the Kylemore Abbey, I couldn't help but notice the contrasting lines of the buildings with the trees in the background. It really did look like a postcard. I also try to take pictures with unusual angles to try draw the eye of the viewer in a specific direction, and i felt that the curve of the garden and the direction of the water reeds really drew my eye to the Abbey.Editing
I try not to do any post-processing and i certainly didn't need any here. The lighting and surroundings were perfect for the shot.In my camera bag

You don't need to be a professional to get a good shot. One thing i learnt from photography club in school was to use your surroundings to draw the viewer it. Whether its drawing the eye to a particular spot or having that one pop of colour in a monotone background that tells a story (i had this with a shot i took at a cemetery). Don't be afraid to take a number of shots from different angles even it means getting dirty.
