Finally got it!!! NGC3532, the Wishing Well, a.k.a the Football, Cluster. Discovered by Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille (Abbe Lacaille) in 1751, the cluster lies 405pc (1321ly) away and contains 150 stars, including 7 red giants and 7 white dwarfs. From a relatively dark site, the cluster can be seen as a faint, hazy patch of light a few degrees away from the Carina Nebula. It's brightest individual stars shine at around 7mag. It was the first ever target, in May of 1990, for the HST. Pic was taken with t68 at the Bathurst Observatory (BAT-iTelescope Network). 15x60sec subs.
