Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at FD Photo Studios NY. It's a great facility that I use often for various shoots.

Time

This was captured in mid afternoon as the natural light seeped in through the large factory windows.

Lighting

Natural light was used in this from a large window and I pulled the sofa a little bit away from it to get a good fall off of the shadows.

Equipment

This was shot with a Sony a7r with an EF 4/24-70mm

Inspiration

The model and I had discussed shooting something with sunglasses earlier in the day. So when stylist Jonzu Jones styled her in this look we thought it was the perfect opportunity to create something chic while using the glasses.

Editing

I always post process. I mainly do clean up on skin, wardrobe and background while only slightly tweaking the exposure and color.

In my camera bag

I always pack my Sony a7r with the 24-70mm lens. Also in tow I keep three extra batteries and a roll of masking tape...sounds unusual but always having that tape has been a savior on more than one occasion.

Feedback

Putting together the right creative team is an absolute must. Finding a great wardrobe stylist, MUA and Hairstylist is an essential.
