Some gorgeous Avalanche Lilies...This is the only place I know where they grow in BC. It on my favourite trail...these lilies start to sprout just as the snow is melting off the mountains...they grow by the hundreds of thousands..and they just cascade down the mountain looking like an avalanche. They have a soft sweet smell. I pick them and then after a two hour drive home they look wilted...but as soon as I put them in water they come back to life and fill the house with a nice soft sweet scent. They only grown on the mountain...they don't transplant at all, they need the mountain snow and cold.
