Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Fumotoppara Camp Ground in the city of Fujinomiya Shi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan during my Japan Trip in 2018.

Time

This was taken on November 10, 2018 at 6:28 AM. I together with my friends went there to take photo on the day before taking this photo. But the sky was overcast then we decided to come again. Fortunately, the sky on photo taken day was open clearly.

Lighting

I wanted the photo of Fuji San with reflection on swamp in morning lighting. So, the camp ground was my target location. I went there together with my friends on early morning on the day before this photo taken. Unfortunately, the sky was overcast meaning that the reflection was poor. We came here again on this photo taken day. The nature favours us, the sky was clear, the lighting condition was good.

Equipment

This photo was shot on Sony A7RIII with FE 16-35mm.F4 ZA OSS on tripod.

Inspiration

Our Japan trip was to see Fuji san in different view, different environment. Fuji san with reflection in camp ground was our target. So, the photo is pretty much involved with nature. Most of beautiful nature come during sunrise and sunset making us to get up very early morning to get the location before sunrise to ensure getting perfect photo.

Editing

The photo was taken from 4 photos in portrait and combined into single photo to get wider landscape the my existing wide zoom lens. After combining, color, exposure and white balance were adjust as my favourite.

In my camera bag

Usually, I love taking nature photos, therefore wide zoom lens, normal zoom lens and tele zoom lens are enough to cover my requirement. So, normally, I have 1 body with 16-35mm., 24-105mm. and 70-300mm. lens together with 3 different graduate ND filters, polarizing filter and shutter release cable.

Feedback

To capture nature or landscape photos is pretty much depend on nature and weather condition. Patience in waiting the right condition is the same significant as to get right time and right place to get perfect photos.
