Behind The Lens

Location

The Photos (3 actually) were taken at a local studio to me in Rochford (Essex) , it is small but has excellent lighting and an abundance of props

Time

Photo/s were taken late evening........ although as we were in a Studio, time is not of importance

Lighting

I knew in my head what I wanted to achieve, so setting up lighting was just two lights either side with coloured gels (red & blue)

Equipment

This was shot hand held at 1/100 shutter speed with a Canon 7d Mark II Aperture f/16 and ISO 100?

Inspiration

I wanted an edgy image, that had detailed lighting to show off the gentle curves of the female form. I spoke in detail with the Model to explain what I wanted to achieve which could of been difficult with no moodboard to show what my brain had pictured, but the Model shown is a good friend of mine so understands that sometimes I ask for things that cannot be pre-explained..

Editing

Post Processing using Photoshop CC, firstly subtle skin processing was carried out (all ladies like to have slightly smoother skin) . Then as there were 3 individual images they needed to be put in layers and merged into one final Picture

In my camera bag

The first thing I always make sure is my bag is my Camera (Don't I hear you say, but Once and Only Once I have opened bag to find I have everything else I need except that !) Following that I always have my trusty Canon 17-85mm as a "go-to" Lens, a Sigma 30mm F1.4, a Canon 28-105mm and my Sigma 150-600mm there is also a cheap Yongnuo 50mm F1.8... then the additional possibly essential items like, Rain Cover, Spare Batteries & Memory Cards. Not forgetting a Hi-Viz Vest with "Photographer" written on the back (believe me when I say, you will be surprised how many times you can get access to events, by rocking up wearing it.)

Feedback

If you have an idea, just work at it. ! Digital Photography & Photoshop (there are other platforms that can be used) means that even the purely Hobbiest Photographer like myself can achieve sometimes stunning / artistic results.
