Rising fog in the Shotover Gorge creates a mystical scene. Here, at Pincher's Bluff, Skippers Canyon Road traverses a sheer 200 metre high cliff. The road was blasted out of the rock, with men dangling from ropes tethered at the cliff top so they coulkd holes to position the explosive charges.
