As a traveler by heart. Mariyana was the perfect addition to a scene we saw while roadtripping. It was the end of a 4 days roadtrip around south-east Bulgaria. You know that feeling - on the end of an amazing trip, when you are already full of nice experiences and memories, but feel a little exhausted and a little bit of homesick? That was what we felt that moment in this nostalgic scene of a darkening sky after the sunset, driving on the road to home ahead, in silence, thinking of all fantastic things that happened

Location
The shot was taken on our way back home from a 4-days road trip in the Stradzha Mountains area in south-east Bulgaria.Time
It was just after the sunset. I remember that we were a bit tired and overwhelmed by happy emotions and excitement from the whole trip. It was already past the time to explore once more and we were just sitting in the car, silent and joyful, when I saw this incredible light and the scene, which complimented the mood we were in.Lighting
As it was a little before dawn, I just sensed something quite melancholic in the lightning around - the sun light started to fade and the darkness started coming from behind. It just complimented the feeling we both had in the end of this fantastic road trip.Equipment
The shot was taken with Nikon D610 and Tamron 24-70 G2.Inspiration
You know that feeling at the end of a long trip, full of interesting moments, when you are just still with your own happy memories. I remember I was thinking about all the things that we saw and experienced, when I was struck by the flat, straight road and the fading light at the end of it. It was the perfect representation of the exact mood I was in, when the trip just ends. So I just stopped and told my friend to get out of the car and to start walking towards the horizon.Editing
Nothing more than a bit curves adjustments to pop the shadows, as it was getting dark, some contrast and sharpness. In my camera bag
Apart from the Nikon D610 and my Tamron 24-70 lens, currently I always carry a Benro compact travel tripod and polarizing filter with me.Feedback
One advice, which I also give to myself - when you are driving somewhere and you see a scene that generates an emotion, do not miss it for anything! Stop the car (if possible of course), get out and take the shot! A scene, which puts you in a mood and creates an emotion is the most pure inspiration that you can ever hope for. I still regret about not stopping at a fantastic scene while I was road tripping in Jordan. I didn't stop just because I didn't want to waste time. Which resulted in possibly wasted one of the greatest photos I could've done. Never again! :)
