Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photo in Feb. 2014 at Tishomingo (MS) State Park not far from my home.

Time

It was made in the evening around Sunset.

Lighting

Since there weren’t many clouds or much wind at the time the lake was very calm & that led to the muted lighting causing a mirror effect of the bridge on the water.

Equipment

I used my Canon Rebel T5 camera with a 18-55mm lens on a tripod without flash.

Inspiration

As I was driving by I glanced over and noticed the trees & calmness of the water. Once I got to the parking area it struck me how much this looked like a greeting card or scene from an old film/TV show so I got the shot.

Editing

The only thing I did in post-processing was change the photo from color to B&W/Sepia. Other than that it is as shot.

In my camera bag

I carry my camera, tripod, reflector, diffuser, and four lenses (regular, telephoto, macro & panoramic) in my bag.

Feedback

If you are anywhere near northeast Mississippi you can get to this park and capture a similar image to mine. If not, then you will have to find a body of water with a similar bridge and wait for the weather conditions to be right in order to get a similar shot. Good Luck!
