Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken at Brite Lake, Tehachapi CA. A dear friend needed a good place to talk as she was going through rough times. We chose there. That day was a beautiful start to a new beginning for her and her kids.

Time

It was mid-day, the sun was up high in the sky, and the clouds were rolling in puffy and big.

Lighting

The time of day, the clouds drifting by, the bluest sky, if the timing is right, stop, and take the shot.

Equipment

This was back in 2004, I had my first digital camera. Olympus something or rather. It was the best camera ever! Kinda miss it.

Inspiration

Brite Lakes shoreline was full of long tall wild sunflowers. As I walked by a group of flowers, as I passed, I saw this perfect shot. So I took it. That's how most all of my pictures are. On the spot, as I see it. Most people walk right by without seeing these tiny miracles of natures beauty.

Editing

The way I shoot is simple. I go for a walk, a drive, and stop every now and then to shoot what I see right there. I dont pre plan, just go.

In my camera bag

Just me and my camera, nothing else. well, maybe a different lens and the bag to keep it all safe in. Simple and easy is the way to go.

Feedback

Anywhere, anytime, there is an awesome picture to be had. Point and shoot. Try finding one lone tree outside where you are right now, take several different shots from different angles. Then do the same thing with a glass or object of sorts. Then go through the pictures. One of those is perfect.
