Location
I suppose most dog owners notice their pets gravitate to where we enter our home, no exception here! Here sitting on his bed (built from scrap timber & old fence stumps) on our back verandah Gibbs - named after a NCIS character, was awaiting our return home.Time
Coming home mid afternoon, Gibbs becomes alert as we walk through the back gate.Lighting

Gibbs alertness seen with his eyes & ears has been a favourite expression - this was my first capture. What I try to achieve in photographing Gibbs is capturing expressions in a natural environment rather than have him posed.Editing
Post-processing consisted of tone, contrast & applying a watercolour effect - enjoy applying this effect as it adds to the atmosphere/feel of the image.In my camera bag
Always have my 24-70 on camera, as this is my go to lens, though my 100mm macro is a strong 2nd for the obvious reason & portraits too.Feedback
I prefer to photograph my own pets, not only are they used to the camera - they are also are there on demand! For me the other factor is the ability to be spontaneous & capture a moment, one day I might give posed a go.
