Location
This photo was taken in my home studio in my living room. As I don't have that much space I had to limit myself to a head portrait.Time
I believe it was on the evening of jan 15 2019Lighting
I was trying out some new lightning methods and in this picture I used my studio flash right behind the model. I had a white shower curtain as a diffuser to get a soft light wrapping around the model. Between the diffuser and the model I used a black paper that just covered the models head that allowed the light to wrap around the models head. Finally I used a reflector to reflect some lighht at the models face.Equipment
Equipments used was my Canon 5D with a Sigma 105/2,8 lens at aperture f/4 and a shutterspeed of 1/200 to sync with my Elinchrom D-Lite RX2 studio flash.Inspiration
I was trying out some different ways to use just one light and this was one of the techniques I used, with the light directly behind the model.Editing
Besides from cropping and making it black and white I didn't do so much editing to this picture. A bit dodge and burn around the face and eyes, and especially the earrings to get them pop out a bit betterIn my camera bag
The Canon 5D was my first fullframe camera I got a couple of years ago, since then I have been using the Canon RP for most of my work. Sometimes I also use my Canon 200D. With the RP I almost always use the RF 24-105/f4L lens, but I always have my Sigma 50/f1,4 in the bag too. As for the 200D I mostly use it with a Canon 10-18 mm wide angle lens for times when it requires a wider angle shot.Feedback
The advice I would give to anyone trying to improve their skills, learn from others, there is a lot of videos showing different techiques out on the Internet. Look for photographers that has a style you like and try to copy them to start with. Nowadays it's very easy to look up information on the Internet. You don't have to invent the wheel all the time.
