Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on the way to work in a small town in Japan. I was an English teacher at Higashi Hirose and winter was settling in. I couldn't resist pulling over to take the picture. It was such a mystical morning.

Time

This was around 8am. It was one of the only times I ever saw this area like this. I'm glad I got to see it!

Lighting

Nature have the best lighting. It really was just a lucky shot. I happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Equipment

Actually, I used only my Google Pixel phone. I was annoyed I didnt take my camera (but I was on the way to work). It just goes to show how great phone cameras are becoming!

Inspiration

It was such a moody scene, how could I not take it? The whole morning was magical! That was inspiration enough!

Editing

I didn't change much honestly. I wanted the eye to be drawn to the rail and follow it, so there's a small vignette around the image, but only slight!

In my camera bag

I'm only an amateur. I wish I could afford more, but usually, I have my phone (which is now a Samsung s10e), my Canon 1200D with my zoom lens and normal lens. That's about it really. Sometimes I have my tripod.

Feedback

If you happen to see the fog and the morning sun rising, go to your favourite places! You never know what your favourite place looks like under a morning winter fog.
