Quite often when it's raining, Payton and I head to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve for our morning walks. The canopy of the trees tends to keep us from getting as wet as we would get on our usual walk. And the best part? Payton gets treats from the rangers and I get lots of eye candy from the scenery in the woods. It's a win-win!
On this particularly rainy day, mushrooms were popping up everywhere. I especially liked this bunch of turkey tails. In some ways, they reminded me of a kaleidoscope in the way they cascade into each other, like a waterfall along the fallen tree. Mesmerizing and beautiful.
