Location
This photo was taken at Ballintoy harbour, a lot of Game of Thrones was filmed at this location, I am a self taught photographer.Time
I went to Ballintoy around 8pm to try and get a sunset, unfortunately the weather took a nose dive but not before I got this slow exposure of the breaking waves, I regret to say I cannot find the original photo on my external hard, Lightroom, or Photoshop, I don't understand where it went as I had several images!Lighting
As the light was getting low I was presented with a soft light to get this shot.Equipment
For this shot I used a Canon 80D with 18-55mm lens if I remember correctly on a tripod with shutter release cable.Inspiration
I was hunting for a good composition and thought this was as good as it gets, I found out much later as I was watching Game of Thrones this was one of the locations used in the series, one scene of some of the cast washed up on the sand was at this particular spot.Editing
Editing this shot I lowered the highlights, brought the shadows up added a little luminance and sharpened the edges of the rock formation. In my camera bag
I would usually carry a 50mm Canon lens, a 70-200mm L series lens and also 18-55mm canon lens, filters, tripod, spare battery and shutter release cable for long exposure.Feedback
Patience is a virtue, not easy sometimes but slow and steady wins the race.
