Location
This was taken at Bridestowe Lavender farm, a popular tourist attraction in TasmaniaTime
About mid morning, this location can get pretty busy when the lavender is in bloom so it's always about timing your run to avoid the people but sometimes it's just inevitable!Lighting
Theres nothing super sophisticated with the lighting for this shot. It was early summer so the light can be quite harsh which can make it tricky for getting a good shotEquipment
This particular shot was just handheld, as it was a model shoot so it was more about trying to get shots that they were happy withInspiration
One of friends from University was trying to establish herself as an ambassador for a local clothing shop so she engaged me to collaborate with her to get some shots of her wearing the clothes in various locationsEditing
For this one I did yes. I really wanted to highlight the purples from the lavender in this shot and like I mentioned before the lighting was quite harsh so I wanted to try and soften the blow and take some of the colour out of it and get a little bit experimental with temperature of the image. In my camera bag
These days I carry around a Sony A7riv and a canon 200D, and I will always carry a tripod in me two with a variety of nisi ND filters too because you just never know when you might need them!Feedback
It never hurts to get a little bit playful with the post processing just as long as it's not over done. Make sure there is a focal point in the image and then adjust accordingly. For this one the focal point was the model and the lavender fields so everything I did was to make sure that stood out. And another thing for a shot like this. Use your horizon line as a reference, make sure it's straight. There's nothing worse! It's a simple thing but makes such a big impact!
