Behind The Lens

Location

From the main road running through the small village of Degeberga in the south of Sweden.

Time

Late morning, I was out for a walk with wife and baby girl.

Lighting

Snow is always wonderful for lighting it’s like a giant reflector board

Equipment

Just my Canon1300D, a 70-300mm lens. It was handheld no equipment other than that, I was just out for a walk.1

Inspiration

I’m English and I’ve always found old churches very beautiful but these Scandinavian churches are even more so. Perhaps it was just the novelty but this lovely white building surrounded by a light layer of snow really struck me and I walked around the building a few times looking for the right shot.

Editing

I boosted the shadows slightly to make the lightness of the image pop.

In my camera bag

Not very much, a few lenses and hoods. I’m only an amateur and not a rich one so I can’t spend too much money on my gear.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open. Most of my favourite shots I got when I was just out for a walk or on a drive and seeing something beautiful.
