Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken in Michaelerplatz, one of Vienna's most famous square, next to the Hofburg Palace. The impressive wings of the Palace have two large wall sculpture groups, I captured a fragment of the right one.
Time
It was a nice sunny afternoon.
Lighting
The weather was very nice, so the natural lighting looked ok.
Equipment
The photo was shot on Canon EOS 5d Mark III, lens 24-105 IS USM, no tripod or flash.
Inspiration
I didn' t want to make a traditional photo of the whole sculpture and came close trying different angles and all of a sudden my eyes met his))), he looked so lifelike with this vivid, funny, inimitable expression: anguish, terror, pain? (my admiration to the great sculptor Edmund Hellmer).
Editing
I did some post processing in Luminar: BW conversion, bluring the background, adding sharpness to the head.
In my camera bag
My favourite camera Cannon Mark III with different lens, a tripod.
Feedback
I think it really helps to try different angles and positions, if you want to make an eye-catching photo. It takes some time but is worth it.
