Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo of "Percy", the pelican at The Entrance NSW, Australia.

Time

I'm an early riser and often go down to the foreshore to see Percy and his friends. So this was taken at about 6am.

Lighting

Early morning light is often called the golden hour, it is a clear, clean light.

Equipment

This was shot on my Nikon P510. It's got a great zoom so you can shoot your photo from near or far. I was actually quite close for this shoot, but decided to zoom in any how. Love the result as you can actually see the colours of skin and his eye.

Inspiration

I take a lot of photos of the pelicans as they are such unique birds. And my 8 year old granddaughter give them names, hence this is Percy. Penny and Polly are out of view in this shot.

Editing

In this case, no post processing.

In my camera bag

I keep my bag as light as possible, but I do carry a macro lens and a small tripod as you just never know.

Feedback

Play with the zoom on your camera as you may just discover something new. Have fun!
