Location
This photo was taken in the ancient part of the city center of Viseu, Portugal. There are a lot of small streets and in one old building we can find this imperfect beauty.Time
That day I needed to take some photos for the final project of a class that I was attending, but because I'm not a full time photographer, I had to do it after work. It was way up in the afternoon.Lighting
The sun was already low and it there was not a lot of light because it was a narrow street, because of that there were no significant shadows and allow me to isolate the mailbox on the light wall.Equipment
I use a Canon 70D with a Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 lens.Inspiration
Has I say before, I needed some photos for a final project and I was walking around the city center in the search for inspiration and as I was taking some photos of a church from a street I spotted this old mailbox and I just had to take home with me! :) This part of the city is full of beautiful old buildings and monuments with narrow streets and it's very inspiring to photograph.Editing
The post-processing was quite soft, I only did a little crop and enhance the color a bit, lighten the wall and did some saturation of the mailbox colors. In my camera bag
I use a Canon 70D and there are 3 lenses that accompany me every were, a Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6, a Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 and a Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8. For this project I left the tripod home but when needed I also take it with me, especially if filters are involved!Feedback
The best advice that I can give for this kind of photography is that, you must be patient and walk around the area first instead of start taking pictures of "everyone and everything that moves". Sometimes our subject just pops out in front of the camera when we are not looking for it.
