Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on the streets near Mosque of Ibn Tulun in old cairo streets as part of one of my tours in the streets of cairo

Time

I can recall that it was hot summer day and it was right mid day at noon which why the stray animals usually lay on the ground to cool it body from the sun heat

Lighting

as the shot was taken outside it used a lot of direct sunlight which emphasized the contrast in the cat fur and made its feature more outstanding

Equipment

the Shot was made using a Nikon D5300 and 70-300mm f4.5/5.6 Nikkor lens an no other equipment was needed

Inspiration

In the typical environment of the street photography it's mostly chaotic and energetic however the peacefulness of the cat reflected the peace of the place

Editing

The Raw was converted to black and white with a little adjustment of sharpness

In my camera bag

my camera (nikon D5300) and 2 lenses 70-300mm and 18-55mm with spare batteries and spare memory card

Feedback

A typical shooting routine in the streets will get you familiar with shooting environment and the people living in the area even in a risky place to use your camera like Cairo. Get close to the people and always start with talking before shooting. The most important thing is good to often take interest in those little details out of the big scenes.
