While touring Myanmar we visited the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. It is considered the oldest pagoda in the world at about 2,600 years old. It is gold plated and has over 7,000 diamonds rubies and sapphires on it. It is the most sacred temple in Myanmar as it is claimed to have strands of hair from the first Buddha.
